Crazy Weather

I thought I would do a little post on the crazy weather here. We left the freezing cold weather of Utah to come home to an ice storm. Before living in Texas we never really knew what a true ice storm was....but now we do. It never really snows here and it isn't to often that it really gets that cold. However when temperatures do drop and it rains we get this. It's crazy there was seriously a layer of ice on our patio, barbecue, windows, and doors that was about a half an inch thick.

Luckily I didn't have to travel in it but Ryan did and he said it was the worst driving conditions he has ever experienced. There were accidents all over the place and most schools and public places were closed for the day. Lucky for Madison she was suppose to have her first dental appointment but the dentist canceled due to the weather. My camera isn't the best so it is hard to see the ice but I had to try to capture this event on film, as we are hopeful to not have many more days like this. Then a few days later temperatures are back up in the low 70's high 60's and the kids are out enjoying the fresh air. Crazy...but we love it. The snow is great but after a month I was ready to be done with it for the year. **Talk about crazy weather...there is a tornado watch for us tonight, hope I don't have anything to post about that!**

There are horrible ice storms down there! I remeber when Michael and I were dating and I experienced my first ice storm when we were with his kids in East Texas. It was awful! Impossible to drive...but people do anyway....but it is beautiful afterwards...glad your family was safe!

I remember my sister talking about the crazy Texas weather when she lived there. I guess I shouldn't complain about the 55 degree day we are having. Maybe I'll send you a snuggie!
