Summer fun...

We finally made our first trip to the pool. It's pretty nice having it right down the street. I just wish Ryan was home more so that we could get more use of it. I am getting better but I still don't dare brave three kids alone at a pool.

Lov'in the water...

Lately Madison is into catching bugs....which is great except that she wants to bring them in and keep them as pets! Here she is with her newest addition to the collection, a lady bug. I think she had just as much fun with the bug as she did in the pool.

Bryton loved the pool, despite the cool water. I wasn't too surprised because he has always loved his baths but then again the temperature of the water was definitely not equivalent to bath water.

Here we are at the splash park....another great thing to have close by. This is an activity that has been added to our daily routine.

Some of our other summer activities have included....short "hot" walks and building forts to trap Bryton (despite being rebuked repeatedly).

Like we don't have enough babies to keep track of.

Poor Bryton...

Also who can pass up a free movie each week...not us I guess. :)

This was one of the most crazy things I think I have done thus far. Cabin fever had set in and I just needed out of the house so I packed up the kids and some popcorn and made it to the theater by 10:00! WOW....now that is something to brag about! I figured since the movie was free I could leave and not feel too bad if the kids acted up. I am happy to report they did great....Bryton sat in his stroller the entire show and Madison and Jackson were as happy as can be with their sprite and popcorn. (Maybe that will have to be our church treats?) I think we just might be doing this each week.

What would a summer post be with out a picture of kids and popsicles!

The other night it was raining like crazy and Ryan went to take the garbage out. (We don't have garbage cans here...it's the good old fashion way, men on the back of the truck collecting garbage)Ryan came back in to wake the kids because we had this on our front porch...

I guess it was seeking shelter from the rain. We have wild rabbits all over here but haven't seen one this tiny before.

To top the post off....we did it! We actually went on a date...without kids! This is one of about five times (in four years) this has ever happened and I think it is the second time we have ever had a paid babysitter. I even had to call family to figure out how much babysitters make these days. It was fun to get out and quite relaxing to have just adult conversation at dinner. But, I have to admit I miss and worried about the kids the whole time. The good thing is we have a great girl in our ward that the kids love so the transition went well and besides not going to bed, I think they had a lot of fun. After we got home that night I realized it had been one year exactly...June 13th since we closed on our house here in Texas. Hence the pic. to document the occasion. It's hard to believe it's been a year...well, most days!

I don't even know where to start on the comments, that was quite the post. All I can say is that I can no longer use the excuse of not having time as a reason to for-go updating my blog. I don't know how you do it all? Seriously! And you still look amazing!! I love that last picture of you guys. I'm glad you two got to go out. Hopefully these next three go as fast as the first! We sure miss you guys!!

Oh I know, this year has FLOWN by! I love that splash park and the free movie idea - how great! And popsicles??? Out here it's rainy and cold still - you'd never know summer was around the corner! And I HEAR you about the dates thing - and I just found the most awesome babysitters (sisters) that my kids LOVE and we're moving next week - blah!

Great post ~ you have been up to a lot lately! The pool looks great ~ wish we had one nearby. We have those little rabbits too - they are pretty cute but they will eat all of your plants (just warning you). I can't believe you have been in Texas a year!! It's great that you and Ryan were able to go out alone!

I love that last picture of you. You look so cute in it. Congrats on being able to go out by yourselves. That is so nice and you so deserve it. I wish you could do it more often! Once again I don't know how you do it. You amaze me.

Oh and as always, your kids are so dang cute!
