Ya, I know my eyes are closed but it was the only one I have of all of us.
(I guess only if our entire families could have made the surprise.) Yes, I said surprise! It was awesome....I turned 30, but that wasn't the great part. On the night before my birthday I was just finishing up babysitting my friends kids when I called Ryan to see if he was going to be late so I would know what to do for dinner. To preface this a bit I hadn't been too excited to be turning 30. I'm not one that gets to caught up in age but admit it 30 just seems so old. It had been a stressful day and I knew we didn't have much planned for the big celebration because I knew Ryan had a crazy shift the next day. I was just planning to start cleaning and getting things ready for our trip to Utah as I had been procrastinating doing so. As I hung up the phone Ryan came through the front door. Odd...since he always comes through the garage but I didn't think much of it. We started with our usual conversation and I had my back to the laundry room door as I was rummaging through the fridge trying to come up with something for us to eat. Out of the corner of my eye I saw someones arm come through the laudry room door from the garage. My first instict was that Sherry or one of her kids must have forgotten something. Then the BEST surprise ever...no way could this be happening it was Megan and her sweet little girl Mia. I was in SHOCK...what! She said she wasn't going to miss my 30th! WOW...it was so sureal. As we were hugging, talking, and of course crying I look up to see my Mom and Dad standing in the door way! Are you serious?! They made the trip too! I have had a few great surprises in my life but this has to be at the top. (Besides your proposal Ry! :)) It took several minutes to all set in. They told me they had been planning it forever and that my plans to come home for the holidays so soon had changed things up a bit. They were planning to stay a week but that would mean that the kids and I would be on a flight to Utah while they were still at my house. So the changed their plans and were actually flying home with me. Really....could this get any better? I can't believe that they kept this secret for so long, I talk to Megan and my parents nearly every day. Anyway as you can tell it was an awesome week and an amazing celebration. I can't thank them enough for what they did...seriously is this the best family ever or what! I could blog all day about how great they are and about how much they mean to me and what a great support they are or about how much I love them and how much fun we have together but I hope they already know all that. So here is a little proof of the week...
What would a celebration be without the help of the Olive Garden...
How great is it to have your sisters as your best friends! Lucky what more is there to say.
I am sooo blessed. What amazing parents I have.
Madison was so thrilled to have her little sidekick all to herself for an entire week. She hasn't stopped asking for a little sister since. I am grateful that Mia fills this gap for now. :)
Happy Birthday to me. Thanks for the cake Mom, loved it like usual!
Jackson loved his one on one time as well. Really they just can't get enough of their cute cousin.
Grandpa helping Jackson fulfill his punishment. Notice he still reads the Book of Mormon in time out.
