BBQ Weekends...

I never did get around to posting anything for the 24th of July. I know it isn't a holiday here but we sure miss it so we made the most of what we had. What would a holiday weekend be like with out a little yard work...

Then we rested up for a picnic in the blazing hot weather...

We came in just in time to open another fun package from...you guessed it Cacey and kids...thanks guys like usual we LOVED it!

Then we had some way too ripe bananas so we decided to make so banana bread...wow cooking was sooo much easier when I was the only participant!

Looks like Jacks may have got some of the ingredients in his hair?

AND THEN....for the real fun! We met up with another resident that Ryan works with and his wife and little boy for some swimming fun and a great BBQ. We had so much fun and the kids loved playing with Jake their little boy. We were so busy talking that I forgot to get the camera out so as a result we have two poorly taken snap shots to document with...oh well! We had a great time anyway! It is so nice to finally hang out with another couple in the same situation that can relate to all the joys of medical residency. (I just wish we lived a little closer to them).

Here is a few pics. of the kids in their festive outfits on Sunday. After church we headed over to some friends in the ward for another fun BBQ. I really messed up this time because I didn't even take the camera but I am sure everyone will be grateful that they don't have to make a debut on my blog. (Yet) :) We had a great time and hate to see these weekends go as Ryan will be back to 24 hour call every four days for the next nine months...for those who don't know what that entails it literally translates to living at the hospital! Oh well...it was nice to have him home for a few weekends!

Cute post, Sare! Sounds like you are making some great friends in your same situation - that is so nice! Your holiday celebrations look way fun and the kids look so cute in their red white and blue outfits! I love Madison's dress!

I've thrown away bad bananas from the last two bunches. That's it...I'm going to have to make bread out of the black one. Thanks for the inspiration! You might want to think about moving back to Utah...what will you do when you don't get fun packages in the mail EVERY WEEK!;)

Madison's dress is so darling! Where did you get that at? I love it. Your boys look so cute. How did Bryton get so tan? I'm glad you guys were able to do some fun stuff and that Ryan was actually home on the weekends so you could enjoy getting out. Now that you have taught your kids to bake bread I think it's possible that I can learn?! Maybe not. I won't get me hopes up. ;)
