Madison + scissors = babysitter - hair!

Don't they look so innocent???

So who would have thought....two weekends ago I decided to surprise Ryan and get a babysitter for the evening. As you all know child free nights around here are very infrequent for many reasons but mainly because of my fear of leaving them. Ryan was getting ready start his crazy schedule so I thought it would be nice to take him to a movie. Our sweet babysitter (that we just love) is moving at the end of the month....as luck would have it. We finally find someone we feel good about leaving the kids with and who are kids love just in time for her to move. Sheesh! Anyway we wanted to snag her one last time. Saturday we go to pick her up and her Mom comes out with this darling play house to give us since they aren't taking it with them. We come home and Ryan puts it up in the backyard for the kids to enjoy while we are gone. I fix some dinner for the kids and then we leave for a few hours just enough time to catch a movie. We get back and the babysitter comments about how good Madison has been but Jackson we all know was another story. (Not that he was bad just a little wild like usual.) We thank her and take he home, as I am cleaning a few things up I notice that there are scissors out on the bar which are never there, as I am taking them back into the bathroom I notice a hair brush out of place as well. I don't think much of it...who would right? Sunday morning I get up and in my hurry to get the kids ready for church and finish a sharing time I am trying to multi task, I go to throw some paper away and notice a clump of hair in the garbage. Surprised as you can imagine I asked Madison where it came from...surely Jackson did not pull this out of her head. Then I had the horrible thought that Madison got the hairbrush (that was out its of place last night) stuck in the babysitters hair and she had to cut it out (hence the scissors on the bar) NO...that would bad enough but the story gets worse. No one will tell me what happened and by this time I am sick so I call and talk to our babysitters Mom and she proceeds to tell me that my sweet little Madison cut the babysitters hair! WHAT!!! Surely it wasn't Madison, if she would have said Jackson now that I would believe. Sure enough they were watching a movie and the babysitter thought Madison was just combing her hair (which she was until she disappeared to find some scissors). Seriously, what do you do? I wanted to die! I am still not quite sure how something like this happens but I am devastated nonetheless. Luckily it wasn't a ton of hair and not real noticeable. But my paranoia of leaving my kids tripled in a matter of minutes....for reasons I never could of imagined! In Madison's defense it was completely innocent she just loves playing with hair and I guess it didn't help to let her watch Jackson getting his haircut just minutes prior. But please kids...if you are going to try something like this keep it in the family....that's bad enough!

*What's even worse is that the babysitter kept telling us how good Madison was for her....and little did we know she had cut her hair, so what was Jackson really like?*

Now that's a new one! How funny... your poor sitter! Bet she's glad she's moving now, lol. J/K Hopefully it's not in a noticeable spot and it is more traumatic for you than for her =).

Sara, I laughed just as hard reading this post as I did hearing you tell me the story over the phone last week! Madison is too funny! You have to watch out for those quiet ones sometimes......j/k. That is something that Belle would have totally done at that age. She did in fact, just not to a babysitter. She trimmed herself and little brothers instead (and on more than one occasion unfortunately!) Anyway, love you, love the post, and love those kids! :)

I am seriously laughing so hard right now! That is such a priceless story and I am sure you will laugh about it soon. Obviously the babysitter loves her and was just trying to cover for her :)

I was just waiting for a picture of Madison with a big chunk of hair missing! I did not see that one coming!! Your babysitter sounds so sweet - I can't believe she didn't even say anything! Never a dull moment, right?!

This has to be one of the best stories I have ever heard! Everytime I hear this story; like Beth, I laugh just as hard. I'm so glad you posted it! Oh, I don't even know what to say except that's hilarious! I feel your pain. If my kids ever did that I would die too. Good thing Madison is SO stinkin cute! It would be hard to get mad at that little face.
