In 2002 I was fortunate enough to go on a medical mission to Peru and what an awesome experience it truly was. It was unbelievable to me the things we were able to do and the aid we were able to give to these wonderful people in such a short amount of time. The problem is that there is still so much that we can and should be doing to help. Although this won't be the exact location or the same kind of things my sisters family would be doing they would still be working to make a huge difference in other aspects such as domestic violence and other things. We are all so blessed and so fortunate to have the things we have so lets help out those in real need.

This is a picture of some kids playing soccer...notice most don't even have shoes to play in. Also notice the housing conditions in this area. (Sorry for my poor scanning efforts! :))

This is a picture of the inside of a house, this is actually a really nice one for the area.

This was a boat we took down the Amazon River and would stop and assist with medical issues in remote areas.

People would line up for days before we would come in order to seek medical attention as this was the only opportunity some of them would ever have to see medical professionals. The hardest part of the whole trip was turning away those that were in need of so much help and there was nothing we could really do with our limited resources. It was also so hard to turn away so many that there just wasn't enough time to see.

Me and my brother Mike with some of the kids we were able to help. I can't wait until Ryan is done with his residency because this is something we would like to participate in every year!

Very cool. That is a great goal for you a Ryan too!
You'll have to let me know if you are going home for Christmas. I would for sure LOVE to see you. I think it has been 6 years now (CRAZY!)
What an awesome experience that must have been. You are so amazing!! I wish we could have been closer as cousins. I need to check out that site.

Early Bird! Is it one of your blogging days? :) I need to post Katy's Bead Boxx on my blog; I was just waiting to see what you wrote. Obviously mine won't be nearly as good. If you and Ryan are serious about doing that we will watch your kids!
That is really neat that you and Mikey did that together! I think I remember hearing something about it actually. Great pics and I'll add Katy's link on my blog too.
