Happy Birthday!

Madison celebrated her 5th birthday a few weeks ago on March 13th. I still can't believe my little girl is five! The poor thing was still sick so we did as much celebrating as we could. She and Jackson had their first soccer game that morning and Ryan had to work, so I hauled them all there alone. Madison was super in to the first part of the game but unfortunately her cold got the best of her and she was not feeling good enough to finish it. Jackson on the other hand was super shy and clung to my leg the first half but then was all over it the second half scoring all the goals...for both teams. I wasn't able to capture any pics. of Madison playing on her big day as Bryton was not liking the whole stroller thing. After the game we went to Toys R Us to look around, lucky for me their was no last minute changes to her birthday present requests. We then went home for lunch and naps. Madison really wanted to go to a movie for her birthday but there wasn't any kids ones playing so we tried to talk her out of it. We were unsuccessful so we went to Alice in Wonderland...(a bit crazy but not as weird as I thought as I was super nervous about taking little ones to it.) Madison loved Alice and so we finished the evening with dinner (at Wendys of course for chicken and fries) and then went home for a tea party! We all had a lot of fun despite not feeling the best.

A birthday breakfast....her favorite, pancakes with a pink candle and strawberries with a fruit smoothie. Does it get any better?

A birthday package in the mail...thanks Melissa!

Dinner at Wendy's....yum, note Ryan and I waited to have dinner at home. I guess I can't say too much I use to love that place too when I was growing up.

Alice in 3D!

Presents....

Thank you to everyone for the darling gifts they were all loved as you can see.

Hope all of our wishes for Maddie come true!

Enjoying some cake and chocolate ice cream.

Poor Bryton missed out on the cake he was worn out for the day and sound asleep.

Maddie...Happy Birthday! We love you so much and are so grateful you are part of our family. As I reflect on my life these past five years I am truly overwhelmed at the numerous blessings this sweet little girl has brought into our lives. As I have mentioned before she is our little miracle for many reasons. It was bitter sweet finding out I was pregnant as we had waited so long (that being the sweet part) but bitter knowing in just a few short months I would be packing up and moving for the next eight years. I so wanted our families to be a part of this whole experience but as I look back I know that a loving Father in Heaven was so intimately involved in our lives, and that this sweet little girl he was about to bless us with was just what I would need to help me get through the hard times that lied ahead. Madison you are beautiful inside and out and are such a great sister and example to your two little brothers. You have such a tender heart and such a sensitivity for others. We are so glad that you love being with your family so much but are happy you are starting to feel comfortable at school, church, and with friends. We are so proud of you for being so brave despite some of the things you have had to experience at such a young age. You are learning so much, you are so proud that you can tie your own shoes, change Bryton's diaper (that is a story for another post) and that you are learning to read. I love that you still love all the "girly" things, pink everything, hair bows, jewelry, nail polish, clothes, dress-ups, etc. You still love to learn and love reading, you also spend most of your time riding your bike, playing in the sand box, playing polly pockets and pet shops, drawing pictures, or playing house with your babies. You are a great little eater and will try most anything but your favorites as of lately are: spaghetti, ice cream, strawberries, mini shredded wheat, pancakes, and grilled cheese. Happy Birthday...we love you so much, thanks for being the joy that you are and for reminding me every night that we are "bestest friends!"

Sara! The cake turned out DARLING!!! You did a fantastic job! Now we all know you are a little 'Martha'....ha ha. :) Sure wish we could've been there to help Maddie celebrate. It looks like a fun tea party. I'm also glad you enjoyed the movie. Love you all!

What a fun birthday - and what a sweet post! I almost started crying when I read it {especially about the part with her saying you are best friends}. You can tell she is such a sweetheart!

And I can't believe you have 5 year old!!

There is no way that she is five!! Time has flown by so fast. She is so cute and sounds like such a sweetie! The first thing I noticed in the picture was the awesome cake! From the other comments I'm assuming that you made it and I am so impressed!! I've had so much fun looking at all your posts. You are an awesome mom - your kids are lucky to have you!

What a sweet post, Sare! What a darling little girl you have. I remember her as a brand new baby in AZ with all that curly hair and big blue eyes...she was so beautiful and still is!
Sounds like she had quite the birthday!! I love that you partied it up all day. And after reading someone's comment on her cake, I had to go back and look for it - I didn't remember seeing a cake... I thought it was just a darling teapot you had on the table for decoration! What?! That is the CUTEST thing and you definitely have mad Martha skills so I am not surprised if you made it. Very impressive! (I am reminded of the distrous pink cake I made for Madison's baby shower! Do you remember that? Half cooked inside!? Ha! No Martha skills here, that is for sure! :))
You are such a cute mom Sare. Your kiddos are darling. :) Happy Birthday Madison!
