Too cute...what more can I say! The boy loves bath time... sleeping now that's another issue but believe it or not we actually had one night that he only woke up twice....that's right, we had almost five hours in a row! Whoot...Whoot! This is huge for this little guy but it was short lived we are back to the two and maybe three hour stretches at night. Which is my excuse for these next few pictures...
Not only is Bryton a terrible sleeper but my other two have now joined the ranks. On most nights we have a child up every hour. Any suggestions...we could use some help! Our bed routine is quite a drawn out process; we have baths, clean up the toys form the day and then attempt to settle them down by reading to them. We start this around 8:00 with hopes that they are in bed by 8:30ish. Madison is pretty good to stay in bed but Jackson not so much. Tonight it was 10:15 and several trips up the stairs with a crying child. The kid uses every tactic he can think of to get out of going to bed. The exhaustion is starting to catch up to me and I'm afraid I am not near as patient as I once was or should be. With Ryan working so much I have to admit there have been several mornings this week that the kids were in pajama's a bit longer than normal as I tried to get them to watch a movie in my bed so I could try to sleep just a little longer.
Maybe we should start our night routine at 5?
Just a little brotherly love!

What do you think...should we keep it? Jackson's hair grows in a perfect Mohawk so we gave it a try for the day. It seems to fit his personality but I don't think we will be making it an everyday occurrence. He did love his cowboy hair as he calls it. (still not sure where that came from?)
Bring on the sun...I so need a tan!
(Gotta love Jackson's bracelet.)
Another solo Sunday...need I say more. I'll spare you all the details of our church excursion this week. When Ryan got off work we headed over to some friends house for dinner after we ate we were all talking as the kids were playing. The conversation somehow got on the issue of potty training so I commented on how well Jackson was doing. Not even five minutes later I go to see what the kids are doing and find Jackson in a puddle....and it wasn't water. Seriously, the kid hasn't had an accident for months. I was mortified....but thank goodness it was on their tile.
FYI...we did make it to Costco for some groceries, out to get my Dad a birthday present, and to play day at the park. Talk about an eventful week! I guess that's what happens when your husband is on call every 4th day (and night) :)

hey britlyn hates to sleep as well!! we tried EVERYTHING to get this kid to sleep at nights! one day someone told us about melatonin which is a pretty natural vitamin that KNOCKS HER OUT! on nights i can't get her to sleep that's what she gets! its awesome. and im pretty sure it really is harmless! i have a bottle of melatonin in like 3 mg i think is the dose. you can get it in 5 or 3, and we do 3 but we only give her half of one, so she really isn't getting that much and it seriously knocks her out and she sleeps really good on it! I don't know if its something you want to try but its worked wonders for us!! :) and now that she is sleeping more she goes to sleep alot easier for us! its great stuff! you can get it by like all the herb or natural medicines at any grovery store!
what do you mean...jackson's bracelet is the perfect accessory! and it matches too;)
I love the pic of them all in your bed and M and J sucking their thumbs. Don't worry, Parker was watching Playhouse Disney for an hour this morning so that I could catch a few more zzzz's. Whatever works to help us keep our sanity and ability to function -- I say DO IT! :)
Parker has been up at nights, too! The little stinker crawled in bed with us last night -- I didn't even know it until I hear this loud CRASH because he fell OUT of our bed (Chris' side). I am so sorry to hear about Bryton's sleep schedule. That is so so hard-- I don't know how you do it!
Ugh. Sorry about the sleeping problems. I couldn't do it and I don't know how you do it. The only advice I have is Baby Wise, but I am sure you already know about that. And lock your older kids in their room and let them cry/play themselves to sleep. ;) You are probably too nice of a mom to do that.
And I think it is totally fine if kids stay in their PJs. Hey, if I don't get out of mine, why should they get out of theirs right?
I wish you lived closer so we could hang out or I could watch your kids so you could get a nap or something.
Oh the pain! I swear Eli was up like that the first 14+ months of his life. Now he wakes up once, but just gets in bed with us and that's the end of it. As for starting bedtime routine at 5pm? DO IT! It really really helps. I took away Eli's nap (which he fought anyway and always took too late in the day)... dinner at 5, bath by 6, and he'd be asleep by 645 or 7!!! It was GREAT! And he got "quiet time" in the afternoon with a dvd so I could still get a break without the nap. Having that time in the evening to relax or go to bed early since you are going to be disrupted all night is SO helpful! I wish ya luck! And seriously, just dress the kids in clean comfortable clothes to sleep in, then no one has to get dressed in the morning, lol.
